Does Obama want more to get cancer sooner? A cost cutting move?
Just as “Early Retirement” reduces your cost to the Corporation, so too does Obama’s propose to take over your medical decision-making and make medical choices that are best for the government reduce your lifetime cost to the government.

Let’s face it — breast and prostrate cancers are a form of early retirement for the costly elderly and under Government health care such cost reductions are a good thing.

For Obama.

Edits for a cleaner take two of that above:

Just as “Early Retirement” reduces your cost to the Corporation, Obama’s proposal to take over your medical decision-making and have his people make your medical choices reduces your lifetime cost to the government.

Let’s face it — breast and prostrate cancers are diseases of those over unproductive citizens over 50. Thus Obama’s proposals are a form of early retirement for the costly geezer class.

Under Government health care such cost reductions are a good thing, to Obama and his youthful fans.

These are independent medical and scientific studies having nothing to do with Pres. Obama. The President has other things to be concerned with. You would love to blame everything from dandruff to bad weather on him.

PSA, Prostate Specific Antigen screening is not a useful diagnostic test for prostate cancer. Likewise, breast cancer screening is being oversold.

This is not Obama saying this. This is the Journal of the American Medical Association (http://jama.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/full/302/15/1685), and the consensus of quite a few researchers, medical scientists and doctors. Before attempting to turn this into a political issue, you may wish to read some of the material behind it. I’d recommend

The basic issue is that as they are currently used, screening techniques are causing substantial numbers of false positives, leading to a lot of freakouts, expensive and painful extra testing.

I’d emphasize that this is not ‘testing’ someone when you have a reasonable suspicion that they may have one of these cancers. This is screening the entire population. There’s major difference.

It’s all about MONEY! If you get a mammogram at 40…you’re costing the new healthcare bill ,Money! You are on the right track…but this bill will ruin medicine as we know it. Cancer is big business…drug companies…research hospitals…and healthcare providers! Reduce the people you treat….lower the costs. These are not “independant studies”…they are all funded by somebody who is looking to make a buck on it!

Obama has no regard for the 50+ crowd.

to be honest….it appears to be the “backdoor” entry to the “death panels” some seem to think aren’t there. what i find so incredibly fascinating is this seems to go against the sales pitch of “preventative medicine” does it not.
