I promise you: most men aren’t potential rapists. If a girl/woman radiates confidence and makes it clear that she expects to be treated with respect then she will tend to attract the right kind of guy. In particular, if you make it clear (at the very beginning) that there will be no sex until you’re married you’ll quickly weed out the jerks.
Although there is such a thing as “date rape” there is also the act of “drunken sex” and the two are not the same.

All men are not destined or programmed to rape (as defined as forcible sexual intercourse), they are programmed to have sex. Since rape is violence against women —even killing them in some instances, rape is more akin to blood lust than to Darwinian success in reporducing. Having a women hate you, fear, you, and punish you for violence against them is not advantageous to reproductive success. Thus, it isn’t sexual advances or wanting intercourse with women that they have to fear —it’s violence.
The following quote from the passage is hogwash, excuse making:

A third sexual stategy? Nonsense. Notice the word “could”…this means the author doesn’t know, and is just guessing as a way to explain away the behavior.
Men should not learn that they can blame their desires or the coercion of women for sex on their Darwinian inclinations or their “desires”. They can blame their culture that tells them they are programmed to indulge in such behavior towards women when they are not. And they can blame their culture for teaching them that violence against the weak —women, children, other men, the elderly –is manly. Don’t be afraid of men, be afraid of those boys who haven’t developed into men at all.

I find the question “Why are all men meant to rape?” offensive.
I am not meant to rape. Never have and never will.
The idea of rape is offensive in itself. My sister was raped and I have had friends that were raped. It causes emotional distress on those raped and those that care for them.
I also feel that the cowards that do such things to women should be locked up for life. They take away a woman’s freedom of mind so why should they have any freedom.
The attitude that rapists have that a woman deserved it for whatever reason is appalling. It’s never a woman’s fault.
Sorry for ranting but rape is something that I have strong opinions about.

ok, this sounds a bit paranoid…
first of all, you didn’t have to put ALL that up to get the point across, and second is that men aren’t “meant to rape”. Men, from a scientific point, I guess, are meant to get women pregnant, and women are made to GET pregnant. Scientifically, that’s it. But that’s not the whole “meaning of life” in today’s world. Yes, men and women still have sex, and men still rape women, but real men know how to control urges.
if your so worried, take a self defense class, and/or carry pepper spray.

Men are not meant to rape they are meant to procreate. Though theoretically you could assume (from dawins standpoint) that survival of the fittest/strongest will reign supreme and men will procreate at all cost rape included. What you have not reasoned into it is societal norms and customs. It is not acceptable in our society for someone to rape other thus laws and strict punishment.

really???well, actually i know someone close to me that have been raped..and she doesn’t have any choice but to marry the guy because she got pregnant..
actually, you are right somehow but then not all men has an intention to rape someone..
just don’t really generalized that..
and acc. to some the most ever successful for a human to attain is by producing offsprings.. because he contributes to lessen the extinction of its own kind ..
