I don’t understand this. The government should offer STD tests for free yet a single screening will cost close to $100.00 for family’s of low income this is not fair. Everyone’s at risk, no matter your income, wouldn’t this be something to lobby for change. Is there free tests or do they always cost money? Is there no way to do a self test? I’m not saying this just for me, I’m talking about entire countries. I understand some countries aren’t quite developed enough to have a government which can support such a luxary however for those that are, these tests should be given out like candy. What do you think?

In the past I have several sexual relations with prostitutes . I would like to go for an STD test because I am planning to get married soon . I saw a patient who tested positive for gonorrhea and she was upset because she didn’t want to be tested nor did she know STD testing was going to be done. Is this because STD testing is just included as the standard-of-care for sexually active women at risk or did she need to give consent to STD testing first?
