I take “Lexapro” for my high anxiety and mild depression. it really gets rid of anxiety and depression but I’m worried it might be making me tired and decreasing my sex drive (one of its side-effects). is there any anti-depressant that doesn’t have that specific side-effect? sex is important in my relationship.

I’m a 19 year old male, and I’m athletic and keep a good watch on my health, the only issue I’ve had most of my life is a stuttering problem, so I’m going back on Paxil. This seems to help my anxiety which helps me to avoid stuttering in most situations. I never noticed anything when I was on it before, but I’m hearing comments online such as losing your sex drive, difficulty maintaining an erection. I’m no longer in a relationship as of three weeks ago, but I’m really not interested in this if all this is true. Too bad I just filled a prescription. Any thought, ideas or comments.?

I was recently diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer and am deciding on treatment. They all seem to have the same dismal side effects. Which one would you say has the least (or most livable) side effects?

I used to be married, but divorced and thus stopped taking birth control pills. Recently, I started back on them because I had such clear skin when I was on them and wanted that back! I started back, and my skin cleared up, but my emotions are going CRAZY. They went crazy the last time I was on birth control, but I thought it was the abusive man I was married to. I guess that contributed some in the past, but I am now dating a wonderful man who I plan to marry one day, and this pill is affecting my actions/feelings in the relationship! I am very much in love with this man and don’t want to mess anything up. I am on LoEstrin 24 which is supposed to be a lower dose, but my emotions are still going crazy. Should I quit b/c pills altogether? Should I try another one? (I’m not sexually active so it doesn’t matter either way). I just want to be able to have clear skin but not these crazy emotions! For example, I’ll go from happy to sad and then have anxiety issues, worry issues, etc. I’ll start worrying that my boyfriend will go back to his ex, even though she was abusive to him, etc. I start worrying about stupid things and it messes up my whole day! My boyfriend will joke around with me and I’ll take it super personal… I just feel like I’m not myself. I would like to hear other people’s experiences with birth control and how it affected them and what they did about it! I feel like an emotional WRECK!
