Say you’ve been dating for several months and recently became official bf/gf… I want us to get tested regardless of how far we’re planning on going in the immediate future… just to know we’re both safe whatever we do.

But how long after you become official is it appropriate to have this discussion?

What are my chances of getting cancer when i am older?

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

Hi im a 14 year old girl who is extremely afraid of one day getting cancer. I know i have an anxiety problem and I have had these problems since I was little. Im a normal weight for my height and age and ive never had any health problems. I also exercise and play sports. I try to eat a good diet but im a kid so I do enjoy eating junk food sometimes. No one in my family on both sides has ever had any medical problems except my great grandmother who died at 62 of emphysema from smoking but i never met her and My great uncle who had prostate cancer but caught it early and beat it and had surgery and hes been fine for over 5 years now. So besides those 2 my family is generally healthy. In fact my great grandfather lived to be 92 and my great grandmother on my fathers-mothers side lived to be 90 something also. My great grand mother on my mother’s-mother’s side is turning 85 this year and has no medical problems except mild alzheimer’s. My grandparents are fine on both sides and my parents don’t have any medical problems except the fact my father smokes. I know cancer can happen to anyone but what are the chances of me getting it when I’m older?

Problems urinating + getting / keeping erection?

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

This problem started about 4-5 years ago but I have been too embarrassed to do anything about it. It first started in high school. I had just been diagnosed with adderall and welbutrin and took about 30mg of adderall per day. After a few weeks, I noticed that my penis had barely any blood flow to it, and when I peed I could not finish.. As in pee would get stuck in my penis because the veins were so constricted that the pee could not escape until later when I walked around. My penis lost almost all sensitivity and I sometimes could not get an erection even while watching porn. I also drank a lot of caffeine and used tobacco at this time which I now know could have also contributed to the problem. I stopped using ADD medecine completely, and almost completely stopped drinking caffeine after this, but the problem still exists today about 4 years later. My penis is always way smaller than it used to be, and I never get erections. It has been an extremely embarassing thing for me over the years. I have hooked up with different girls on about 5 different occasions and not been able to get it up. These were all horrifying and lately I just never go out any more encase a girl wants to hook up with me ( when really I should be doing the opposite at age 23). Since then I have been depressed, and have smoked marijuana at least every other day and drank heavily for about 3 years (I stopped now). When I do get an erection, its almost like blood is completely blocked from flowing to the front underside of my penis. It curves slightly upward because of this , and a feeling of pleasure that I remember from the past of blood flowing to the head of the penis is not there at all. I still can not finish peeing, and almost always have to basically squeeze my penis from the base up a few times to make sure pee doesn’t leak out onto my pants and make me uncomfortable when I’m done. I have also developed other health problems recently which are also extremely embarssing. One being that almost every time I poop it stings when I wipe and there is small amounts of blood afterwards. I feel like such an idiot for not going to the doctor even though this has been all thats on my mind for the last few years, and I can’t even seem to work up the nerve to tell any friends or my parents. Any help or suggestions I could get on where to begin would be great. I still can’t get a proper erection, and even then only last for a very short amount of time, and my penis while unerect is smaller than it was about 7 years ago. I have completely quit drinking caffeine + smoking cigarretts for the past 5 months and still have no changes. I don’t know if i have a prostate problem, a damaged urethra, a damaged vein in my penis, or what but I need help badly :( I really don’t want to live my life not being able to ever start a family or meet women because I am scared that they will want to go to bed with me and I won’t be able to get it up. I finally worked up the nerve to call a urologist lately and they said ED problems are not covered by insurance.

Can being gluten intolerance give you problems with getting it up?

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Apparently it decreases your sex drive – in turn causing infrequent erections in males. Although apparently this is only the case if you have eaten gluten products in the past week or so.

getting married..first pap..birth control?

Monday, April 4th, 2011

Hey. I’m getting married in a few months. I’ve just recently become sexually active so I’ll have to get a pap. I’ve never had this done before (and before anyone says if i don’t know these things then I shouldn’t get married or that i’m not old enough that’ss not the case, I was just a really sheltered child and this isn’t something i can discuss with my parents and I have no sisters) ok I would like as much info about my first time going. I have not had sex for about 3 weeks. I am really nervous. also, will I have to get a pregnancy test before getting prescribed birth control? We only had sex without a condom once (yes i know only once and it can happen) and it wasn’t even sex he just inserted and then werealizedd that we were being dumb..and my period started the next day. and he is the only man i have ever had sex with and I am the only one he;s been with as well.

I would just like some info on my first time going to get a pap. and what kinds of questions they will ask me while I am there.

thanks everyone. and no we didn’t have sex ed or anything like that in my highschool.

thanks sillybassgirl you were very helpful! :)

Getting off of Birth Control?

Friday, April 1st, 2011

Hello ladies :)
I know everyone gets tired of birth control/period related questions, but seeing as how a majority of my friends are male I resort to you:)… I took BC for about 1 year and got off of the pill about 1month ago because the hormones made me feel super crazy/emotional … while physical side effects seemed slightly better I couldnt handle feeling constantly psycho, lol.

It has only been approximitly 22 days since my last period, but man! PMS has been psycho this month. I havent felt AS emotional but my physical side effects worse! I am SO bloated I feel and look I look pregnant … (Rationally this is not feesable I know).

My boyfriend insists that my extreem and longer than usual bloating/PMS is related to this being my ‘first real period’ in a long time.

Did you have this happen to you? How long till it stops? Any advice on releaving the symptoms? (plus anything addional advice or personal experiences would be helpful!)

Oh-and I cant forget my back cramps and extreem fatigue… ugh

Thanks Penguins-while that sounds miserable your story is good to know
