Effects of Saw Palmetto herb extract?
Friday, February 11th, 2011I’m a 14 year old male (almost 15 though), and I’ve been taking Saw Palmetto extract.
The following is from the website http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/health-supplements/saw-palmetto.htm :
Saw Palmetto inhibits testosterone action on the prostate, thus is used widely for BPH treatment. Saw Palmetto is also used to treat bladder inflammation, chronic bronchitis, among other conditions. The fatty acids in Saw Palmetto are thought to have testosterone inhibiting effects on the prostate. Saw Palmetto also prevents testosterone from converting into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which causes prostate cells to multiply, and also leads to male balding.
Now, I’m not exactly stupid, but I’m not sure exactly what this means. I’m 14 and in puberty and not sure if I would need all this. The only thing that worries me is that one of the effects is that it inhibits the effects of testosterone on the prostate. Does this mean it will effect the size of my package, and my fertility rate?
Thank you many times in advance.
