With the number of new episodes of sexually transmitted diseases seen in GUM clinics doubling between 1991 and 2001 and still increasing what should be done about this issue?

My client went in hospital for chest pains. While in the hospital the er doctor did a simple urine test that showed yeast and a possible std. Why would the be testing for this stuff with chest pain and what yeast and std could it be. Due to clients rights she does not have to tell what std it is and for my safety I need to know if it could be treated and go away after treatment

I saw a patient who tested positive for gonorrhea and she was upset because she didn’t want to be tested nor did she know STD testing was going to be done. Is this because STD testing is just included as the standard-of-care for sexually active women at risk or did she need to give consent to STD testing first?
