my husband and i want to check his sperm to make sure the problem is not on his end, because we are currently trying to conceive. quite a few questions:
1. would buying an at home test to test his sperm count and mobility be as accurate as going to the doctor? the one i found that sounds simple to read is at early-pregnancy-tests.com and its called the Micra Male Fertility test.
2. the Micra male fertility test is $80.00, im assuming going to the doctor would be less, what do you think?
before we got married, my husband used to be a really really heavy drinker. he now has a few beers a day like any normal man, i know that it takes the male body 3 months to create new sperm. but..
3. do you think the drinking in his past could have made him infertile?
we are just trying to figure things out and get opinions before we go see the doctor, and if going to the doctor is the best idea.
i mean what the hell!!
You ( the human male) needs both those things to “do it” right
so why are they inversley proportional?!
please can someone explain this biologically or scientifically?

Although some people still think of fertility as a “woman’s problem,” up to half of all cas…

How frequently a man has sex can impact his sperm count. A man’s body does need to have time to replenish his supply of sperm. Experts are not entirely agreed on the amount of time it takes for a man to rebuild this supply, and the time may vary from man to man as well. Most researchers suggest that a man ejaculate no more than once every day and a half, or 36 hours, when they are trying to conceive.
However, you may be surprised to know that having sex too infrequently can also impact a man’s fertility. Sperm that have been produced more recently tend to have better motility and normality. Over time, sperm that has been produced but not released may lose its vitality. Waiting more than a week before ejaculating may result in poorer quality sperm.
I have heard that there is some kind of medicine like fertility drugs women would take that work for men with low sperm count. Is this true? What is there for men with this problem?
