One argument against porn is that it distorts the way men see women; it makes adolescents desirous mostly of the idealized woman to the exclusion of more realistic, average women.
But still, men are visual. The code for beauty is genetically programmed into both sexes, in fact. Men like symmetry and prominent secondary sex characteristics (visual symbols of fertility.) Women like symmetry but would appear to be less “visually inspired” than men.
There’s also an argument that porn “stunts” male growth–to enjoy porn is to destroy one’s ability to meet women. I prefer to see it the other way around; those of us who are too shy or socially awkward, or just “can’t get a partner” for whatever reason, are more likely to view porn as release.
Can I get anyone to agree on some of this? I can see the downside to porn, of course, but I don’t think it’s as horrible as some people say.
