My father has been diagnosised with High Grade Invasive Bladder Cancer which has penitrated the muscle and spread to the Prostate. I know for sure that it has affected one of the Large Lymph Nodes in the surrounding area.
I’m not certain of the Stage at this time. The surgeon has said that it could be a high 2-3 or 4…
They did not do any radical surgery or cutting, as they did everything microscopic through his genitals. They removed part of the tumor from his bladder but were unable to get it all.
He has a stint attatched to the Kidney with a tube that runs to the Bladder which also has a stint attatched, this way he is able to urinate with ease.
The tumor inside the bladder is so large that it was blocking the flow of urine.
He is undergoing Radiation 5 days a week at 15 minutes a session.. he will have 30 treatments.
They do not recommend Chemo, as they feel he would not be able to withstand it’s effects.
He is 88 years old and has been in perfect health.
Is there a medical reason as to why someone might have bladder control issues only 1-2 times a month at most? This isn’t overactive bladder, infact I don’t feel it at all. It just kinda happens even if I don’t need to urinate very badly at all.
It culdn’t be an infection as this has been happening for years in isolated bursts. One accident and not another for six months. Its not when i laugh or sneeze or stress my muscles (signs of overactive bladder) and its not cancer.
Due to the infrequency but the near complete voiding when it happens, i don’t think its my prostate either, do i have a problem with my nerves? Is it stress? What is wrong with Me? I don’t currently have health insurance so i thought i would go to online forums first.
I’m a young adult male in my 20′s, otherwise in good health (I know I don’t have diabetes, prostate issues, or any other such thing)…
I have a small bladder and have to urinate frequently (maybe an average of 10-12 times) during the day… but the worst problem is at night — I almost always have to get up at least once a night to urinate, sometimes twice, and sometimes before I can wake up all the way my bladder just gets too full to hold it all and I’m already leaking a little (or, rarely, a lot) in my bed as I wake up. I also get a huge adrenaline rush (I think) because my body is panicked because I have to go so badly, and then it takes forever to fall back asleep.
Is there any way I can train my bladder to hold on just a little longer, or my body to wake up quicker, so I can sleep through the night with minimal interruption? I don’t drink late at night and am careful to use the bathroom before bed… anything else I can do to help my bladder hold on until I wake up?
I know it’s normal for a lot of people to wake up and have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night… but a lot of times I don’t wake up until I really HAVE to go, to the point where my bladder is stretched to the absolute limit and a few drops (or rarely, more) are starting to leak out. What’s really frustrating about that, though, is that my body often gets a huge adrenaline surge when this happens (probably because it’s trying really hard to make me wake up before i wet the bed!) and then after i hit the bathroom i’m WIDE awake, and sometimes can’t get back to sleep for an hour or more!
I’m only in my 20s and in good health… i know i don’t have diabetes or prostate issues or anything… just a bladder that’s never been able to make it through the night! Any ideas on how i can at least get a better night’s sleep?
(and yes, i already know not to drink too many fluids before bed… this can happen even if i don’t drink anything at all after 6 pm!)
The other night, I had to hold my bladder for quite some time on the bus ride and my walk home. This took half an hour to forty minutes. I was able to urinate properly when I got home, but I’ve since been unable to get a proper erection. I am wondering if I might have (and hoping that I did not) damaged my bladder and/or penis What’s hapened? Is it reversible? What can I do?
Hello everyone, my Dad got prostate cancer 5 year ago. He had prostate cut 4 year ago and the bladder removed recently. Now he is taking medicines regularly and the health seems more stable. But from the bladder surgery done until now the leaking problem makes him very uncomfortable. As the bladder was removed, the urinary comes straight from the hole on the belly to a plastic bag through a plastic duct (pipe). The pipe is attached to the hole on belly by a sticky band (Braun brand) The problem is the band is not good enough to stick properly on the body all the time and it allows urinary to leak out. Dont need to tell but you can imagine how unconfortable when the clothes/body easily get wet if you dont stay in a “correct” position. Anyone, please, if happens to know any way/product or any doctor who can fix the problem, please kindly let me know. The terrible summer is getting close and the leaking problem is even worse now. I wish to hear from you, please help. Thank you very much.
Since last few months I feel that I need to empty my bladder more frequently. Also I feel that I finish very quickly (approx. 2-3 mins). I am 34 yrs old. I am not taking any medicine and never seen a doctor for either problem. I don’t think that have any diet or stress problem. Do you think that I am having an enlarged prostate? If so, is it in any way connected to PE? Thanks for reading. I’d appreciate your thoughts.
..in the middle of the night? I’m in my late 20s, in good health, and have pretty much always had to do this ever since I “outgrew” wetting the bed every night when I was about 12. Sometimes I try to roll over and make myself hold it until morning, and once in awhile that works, but usually there’s no chance, I HAVE to get up and go! Just wondering how common it is for adult men to have to do this, other than as a result of a prostate issue… I’ve had that checked, not a fun experience, but was assured that that’s not a problem for me! I’m told that my bladder is probably a little small as a result of the childhood bedwetting problem… anyone else know anything about this?
I was told by my urologist I had severe bladder damage as a result of prostate cancer, however, the problems of severe incontinence did not exist prior to surgery.
