My husband is 24, when should he begin prostate exams? Are there any other men’s health issues to consider?

I want him to remain in good health and I was just wondering what special things he should be screening for. I hear lots about women’s health but nothing about men’s. Just hoping for more insight. :)

Most men don’t start getting prostate exams until they are 40 or 50. After then he should get one every year.

High blood pressure beginning now , diabetes and prostate by 40 and colon cancer after 50 , If he gets an annual physical exam ,most of the tests are ordered routinely ,including blood levels of cholesterol etc.

    after 40 or 50!

As all the statements above are true, if prostate problems run in his family then he needs to let his doctor know or start going to a urologist once a year starting now

    Here is another suggestion.

complete physical at age 25….this will be the base line physical. If no problems or medical conditions exist the next one at 30. then
    next one at 33, then
next one at 35, and every three years till age 45, then annually, if you have a good doctor he/she will start the prostate screening in the forties….compare each to the baseline physical and note any changes or patterns developing.
