HIV not HSV

1 is usually on the lips. Otherwise known as cold sores. You can transmit it by kissing. You can also transfer it to someone’s genitals through oral sex. Don’t kiss or do oral sex while you have a cold sore.
HSV 2 is generally on the genitalia and is sexually transmitted.

I don’t know why you aren’t talking to a doctor about this. But here is something. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSV-1

Yes HSV (herpes simplex virus) is a sexually transmitted disease.
Herpes simplex virus 1 is typically cold sores, it can also cause genital herpes though. Colds are usually not spread by sexual activity. They are usually spread by simply just kissing someone with cold sores. A person can also get them by sharing chapstick or lipstick with someone who has cold sores.
Genital herpes is usually always sexually transmitted. Genital herpes is herpes simplex virus 2, but it can sometimes cause cold sores (this is more rare though). This is usually always spread by having sex with someone who has the virus. The virus can spread to another person even when the person with herpes is showing no signs or symptoms of the virus (like sores).
