You can’t know for sure, but if you have obvious symptoms, like sores on your genitals or in your mouth that are NOT canker sores, then I’d think you might have an STD. Then, I’d go to the doctor to be sure.

many STDs have no (immediate) symptoms so you may never know. others have visual symptoms like herpes, warts or crabs. but if you’re worried I’d go see a doctor and ask for a test and from now on, use condoms. remember, even if the girl is on the pill ya’ll can still get an STD (or if you’re gay, still use condoms because both parties can get STDs)

its difficult to be honest, the best way is if you have had any changes down below, for example spots, boils, whether your quite sore (more then usual) whether your in some form of pain, or whether your having any moistness or unusual smell. No matter what the problem is do not be afraid of going to the doctor if you feel scared some STI’s like chlamidiya or siphilis or hiv / aids (sorry if i spelt it wrong) do not have any symptoms at all but if left untreated can have very bad implications for the individual. please get checked out rather be safe then sorry. good luck

Since some STD’s don’t have symptoms right away (HIV, for instance), you would need to be tested to see if you are infected.

If you are talking about an infection such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, trich, then you would have to go to the doctor to get a culture taken. It may be an STD, or it may just be a yeast infection or some other bacterial infection. If its an STD and you don’t get it taken care of, it can lead to other complications such as infertility, and even cancer. If you are getting sores or warts or something, you probably have HSV (herpes) or HPV (genital warts) but still would need to get it verified by the doctor. Keep in mind, the Dr. is there to help you. And it is a law they must keep your medical information confidential.

u can try matching your symptoms up to sites on line but some times the descriptions of symptoms are a little vague, so u may end up freaking yourself out into thinking u have some thing when u may not. so its best to see the doctor and have them test u properly for any thing u think u may have.
