    Hi there,

Yes they can. Not all stds are curable and with many stds sometimes there are no symptoms so a person may or may not know that they are in fact a carrier of the disease. Further, most doctors will want to conduct a second std test after you have taken the prescribe medications just to make sure that the disease has been cured. Until then you should not resume having sex unless your doctor says it’s okay and
you should return to your doctor to get rechecked if he/she does not tell you to do so anyway.

    Cheers.
